Release 12.3.10

12.3.10.14

Beta Release of FreedomPay with Castles S1F4 Pro

IG Fly has been enhanced to support FreedomPay gateway with Castles S1F4 Pro as the certified device. This being a Beta release, properties interested in implementing it must be aware of the limitations and work closely with an Agilysys representative to understand its functionality.

App Installation

The following apps will be installed on the device and shipped to customers by FreedomPay:

  • Agilysys Pay App

  • IG Fly App

  • Loader Utility

  • EMV Files

  • ARUS

These apps cannot be installed from any available FreedomPay Enterprise Portal/Google Play Store or any other app repository. FreedomPay recommends that the Agilysys team handle the App upgrade process after shipping the devices.

App Upgrade

  • Whenever the app is updated due to a hotfix or the addition of a new feature, it must be signed by FreedomPay before deployment. This signing process may involve multiple iterations, potentially causing delays. Additionally, the Agilysys team is responsible for upgrading the signed app. This involves connecting the device to a Windows workstation and sideloading the app, which is different compared to a standard app installation. As a result, delays in updates must be anticipated and planned for accordingly.

Supported Region and Currency

  • IG Fly with FreedomPay is available in the North American region only and the supported currency is en-US.

Receipt Printing

  • Customers can enable or disable the receipt printing in the device through the Enable Print Receipt checkbox present in the FreedomPay app.

  • If there is no receipt paper in the device or the receipt paper roll is out of stock, there are no warning messages displayed on the device.

  • The default receipt width configured in the Agilysys FreedomPay app is 32 mm. If it is configured to a value of 36 mm or above, the text printed on the receipt will be truncated.

  • The receipt printed on the device will not have any logo/QR code/barcode printed. Only text can be printed.

Payment-Related Limitations

  • Users cannot swipe/tap loyalty cards, room charge cards, membership cards, gift cards, or any other non-credit cards on the device. The card number must be manually entered.

  • The first payment transaction that is initiated on login (or restart) will take 6-10 seconds to process due to an initialization process imposed by FreedomPay. Subsequent transactions will be normal speed (2-4 seconds)

  • When making a payment, the Home, Recent, and Back buttons present at the bottom of the screen are hidden on the Pay App, by default. These buttons are visible only when the user scrolls to the bottom manually:

    • Selecting the Back button (using the navigation button on the device) when a transaction is in progress will cancel the transaction.

    • Selecting the Recent or Home button (using the navigation button on the device) in the device when a transaction is in progress will complete the transaction successfully.

  • Selecting the Back button (using the navigation button on the device) when a transaction is in progress will cancel the transaction.

  • Selecting the Recent or Home button (using the navigation button on the device) in the device when a transaction is in progress will complete the transaction successfully.

  • The transaction will still get through even if the user selects Cancel on the device while the transaction is being processed.

  • The device will time out in 60 seconds in the Manual entry screen. However, for all other screens, the device will time out after 180 seconds.

  • The UI messages displayed during the transactions are not controlled by Pay but controlled by FreedomPay.

  • Debit cards are supported only on the credit card rails (networks). Currently, the debit card support on debit card rails (networks) is not supported.

  • The manually entered card number will be displayed in a masked format.
