System Management Utility (SMU)

The System Management Utility (SMU) allows the user to send commands from the back office to terminals and kitchen printers.

The following terminal commands are supported in System Management Utility:

  • Go Online - Sends terminal online.

  • Go Offline - Sends terminals offline. When the terminal is connected to the LSS, even when the user selects this function, the terminal does not go offline and is still connected to the backup server. The terminal status indicator turns to amber and not red.

  • Reload Config - Loads terminals with new or updated configuration changes made in IGCM.

  • Clear Dispatcher Connection - Clears a terminal Dispatcher connection in case a terminal is tied up due to a power fluctuation or has a faulty connection.

  • 86 - It allows the user to make an item unavailable temporarily, so that user cannot order that item. When terminal configuration is reloaded, the item becomes available again.

  • Un86 - It allows the user to make the 86’d item available again, so that user can order that item.

  • Reboot/Launch Application - The Agilysys InfoGenesis POS Terminal Application is suspended. The user must launch the application again to login to the terminal.

  • If any open check is open, the user is prompted to save the check.
