Signature and Tip Capture

The POS Terminal application allows the user to capture the signature of the guest while tendering a check. The signature is captured using a GUI application or a payment device. In order to capture the signature, the tender should be configured for signature capture. The signature is printed in the receipt only if the signature tag is added to the CPF template. Signature capture is optional so that a guest can proceed without providing a signature.

The customer can also enter the tip amount using external payment device based on the terminal option 522 and 82. The tip prompt appears only when tender is configured with overtender as Tip in the Tender menu in IGCM. The user can set the preset amount in the Terminal Group menu in IGCM. If an unused tip already exists on the check, it is shown in the tip prompt and if user changes it, the changed value is applied as tip on the check. The tip prompt is applicable to quick tenders also.

Start a check.

Add items to the check. The selected item is displayed in the Check View.

Tender the check using rGuest Pay CC payment. The Please Swipe Card prompt appears on the signature capture device.

Terminal Options Supported

Terminal Option	Description
523 (Enable signature capture on the external payment device)	If this terminal option is enabled, terminal can obtain a customer signature on the external payment device if the tender is configured for Signature Capture. It requires Terminal Option 524 (Use rGuest Pay Service for Payment Devices) and 525 (Enable External Payment Device) should be enabled and also requires a payment device that supports signature capture.
528 (Enable signature capture application on the terminal)	If this terminal option is enabled, the signature capture is appearing directly on the terminal. The signature is captured using a GUI application at the terminal and printed in the receipt when this terminal option is enabled, and the tender is configured for signature capture. When this terminal option is enabled, the prompt for tip and signature capture is always on the terminal, regardless of the setting of Terminal Option 525 (Enable External Payment Device), and Terminal Option 522 (Enable tip prompting on the external payment device). To avoid signature capture errors on the terminal, disable Terminal Option 523 (Enable signature capture on the external payment device).
522 (Enable tip prompting on the external payment device)	If this terminal option is enabled, the terminal can use the external payment device to prompt for a tip when the tender is configured to over tender to tip. Also, the Terminal Option 82 (Prompt for Tip Based on Tender Configuration) must be enabled. If this terminal option is disabled, the tip prompt appears on the terminal. The Tip prompt appears on the external payment device only when the Terminal Option 524 (Use rGuest Pay Service for Payment Devices) is enabled and also requires a payment device that supports signature capture.
565 (Use the payment amount as the basis when selecting a tip percent)	If this terminal option is enabled, the payment is made using any external device or terminal application the tip percentage is calculated based on the payment amount. When this terminal option is disabled, the check total is used as a base for tip percentage calculation. This terminal option must be disabled on terminals where non-guest tenders such as comp and coupon are commonly applied.
82 (Prompt for Tip Based on Tender Configuration)	If this terminal option is enabled, the Tip Amount prompt appears when a cashier selects a tender type which is configured to overtender tip. When this terminal option is disabled, ensure the Terminal Option 522 (Enable Tip Prompting on the External Payment Device) is also disabled.
