Automatic Package Recognition

The POS terminal supports recognizing items automatically as packages when items belonging to a package are added as individual items to a check. Individual items are replaced with packages, and the items appear below the package name in the check view.

The purpose of automatic package recognition is to promote upselling, wherein the POS terminal suggests the user to add more items to the check, thereby making the sale a profitable one.

For example, if the items Burger, Beer and Fries make a package and the user adds burger and beer as individual items to the check, the POS terminal suggests adding fries and making it into a package. This enables the user to sell more items than the originally added individual items.

Also, the POS terminal conveys the amount saved by the guest if they opt to purchase the whole package instead of the individual items. In this scenario if the burger, beer, and fries cost $8 each as individual items but if made into a package cost $3 each, the guest can save up to $15 by purchasing a package.
