Auto Price Level

The Auto Price Level option allows the user to set the price level of the item based on the Check Type, Meal Period, GA Class, Terminal Group and Tender. If an item does not have custom price level, then default price level is displayed in terminal. The price level is controlled by default price level configured for the meal period and price associated with the item. If the Allow price override checkbox is enabled in the Items forms in IGCM, the user can modify the item’s price in the terminal. Similar to Items, the price level is applicable for store items also. When an item is reordered, the item should have the current price level.

The Price level can be configured in the following line items:

A check’s price level is based on the check type selected to start a check. If no price level is set for a check type, the default price level set for the meal period is used. If no default price level is set for either the check type or the meal period, price level #1 is used. The price level associated with the terminal group overrides the default price level associated with the check type.

When a check type is changed in the open check, the price level of existing items on the check are not affected. Only items added after check type change have the new price level. This scenario is controlled by Terminal Option 1063 (Change price levels when changing check type).

Terminal Options Supported

Description

60 (Set price levels based on tender type)

If this terminal option is enabled, the price levels are set based on the tender type and it overrides other tender configurations. The price level for all items is altered at the time of tender and overrides any price levels set in the Check Types submenu in the Terminal Group form.

1063 (Change price levels when changing check type)

If this terminal option is enabled, the price level of the item is changed based on the check type. The price level is adjusted based on the price level configured for the new check type. The user can change the check type manually or when a third-party system requests a change to be made by the TPG.

225 (Disable Automatic Discounts by Tender and GA)

If this terminal option is enabled, the generic authorization, tender discounts, and price levels are disabled based on the Generic Authorization account configuration.

81 (Set check type based on tender type)

If this terminal option is enabled, the check type is changed to override check type based on tender configuration. When a check type is changed using this option, the service charge and item prices remain unchanged, while the gratuity and taxes change as configured for the check type. This option is only supported for the first tender applied to the check.

117 (Prompt for GA account instead of room)

If this terminal option is enabled, GA Account prompt is displayed at the beginning of the transaction and to verify the number using generic authorization verify codes 21 - 29 (types 1-9). In order to activate the GA Account prompt, the Room checkbox must be selected for the respective check type in the Terminal Group menu in IGCM. At a POS Terminal, the generic authorization account (if configured to do so) may apply a discount and set the price level for the check. If the POS Terminal Application is offline, the GA Account prompt will continue to display.

281 (Prompt for Interactive Account Instead of Room)

If this terminal option is enabled, the Account number/name prompt is displayed at the beginning of transaction. If Terminal Option 282 or 283 is enabled, an interactive account lookup is performed, allowing the user to enter a name or number, and return a list of matching accounts. Once the user selects a valid account, the transaction tag field is populated, and any applicable discounts or price levels are applied to the check.
