Agilysys Pay Adyen Authorization Enhancements - Scheduled Captures, Settlement Delay

The Payment Processing form in the Universal Desktop has been modified to add a setting, Adyen.ImmediateSettlement, which is set to true by default. Setting to true does not change the existing behavior for capturing/settling Adyen pay at counter (PAC) or pay at table (PAT) transactions. PAC and PAT Sale transactions are settled immediately upon completion, and PAC authorizations are settled shortly after the closed check is uploaded to the POS server.

When Adyen.ImmediateSettlement is set to false, all credit card transactions, be they PAT or PAC, be they Sale or Authorization requests, are sent to Adyen as authorizations and the authorizations are not sent for settlement until the time specified by the customer. The customer must contact Adyen to schedule the daily batch settlement time.

This enhancement requires updating 12UX terminals to this ISO version, which updates the Agilysys Pay Agent Adyen to version 25.1.0 and the Agilysys Pay Gateway on the app server to version 25.1.0.

Limitations

  • When using the PAC tender workflow with Adyen.ImmediateSettlement set to false, the Credit Card Settlements form in the Universal Desktop shows the status as Real-Time while the Adyen Portal shows the status as Authorized. At the designated daily batch settlement time, the Adyen Portal status for all the day’s authorizations changes to SentForSettle.

  • When using the PAT or PAC authorization workflow with Adyen.ImmediateSettlement set to false, the Credit Card Settlements form in the Universal Desktop shows:

Status: Successful

Error Message: APPROVED – Settlement to be processed at a later time as configured by gateway

The Adyen Portal Status is Authorized until the daily batch settlement time when the status is changed to SentForSettle.

When Adyen.ImmediateSettlement is set to false, all Adyen credit card authorizations (PAC and PAT) on open checks are sent for settlement by Adyen at the agreed upon daily batch settlement time. This prevents the authorization on the open check from being increased, even if it is to add a tip. The terminal displays an error dialog with Reason: Gateway – No time left for over authorisation if an auth increase is attempted. Profit centers that are open 24 hours a day have to manage this limitation with operational workflows when the batch settlement time is approaching.

The Adyen scheduled captures and settlement delay feature is not supported on iOS as of Adyen Pay v25.3.0 (Nov 2025) because the Adyen.ImmediateSettlement setting is ignored.
