Void Reason
A void reason is a short notation that records the reason for a void. Voids enable deletion of either a single line item or an entire open check. The POS terminal always prompts for a void reason on open-check and previous-pass-item voids. It is possible to track current-pass item voids by activating Terminal Option 69 (Require void reason for current pass) with possible manager override required for each void, depending on setup.
It is possible to configure up to 252 custom void reasons, numbered in strict consecutive order. Most void reasons can be placed directly onto a screen layout. It is recommended that there always be an Error void reason, so that errors in order entry can always be handled and accounted for. Examples of common void reasons include:
-
Error
-
Walk out
-
Unhappy customer
-
Late service
-
Cold food
-
Lost order
Perform the following steps to configure Void Reason:
Navigate to POS Configuration ➜ Business ➜ Void Reason.
Select Add.
