Receipt Printer

Port

Options depend on whether Share Printer, Use OPOS, or Use 3rd party interface checkboxes are selected.

  • When Use OPOS is selected, the only Port option is USB.

  • When Use OPOS is not selected, the Port options are: None, com1, com2, com6, and lpt1.

  • If Use 3rd party interface is checked, 32 port options appear in the drop-down menu. Use the com20 port for Smart Receipt™.

Left Margin

The setting entered controls where receipt printing begins on the left margin of the POS terminal receipt. Valid values for this field range from 0 to 9, where 0 is the default. As all printer types are supported, a specific setting is required as left margin printing differs depending on the printer model. Recommended setting: 3.

Use OPOS

Select if a USB connection is required for the POS terminal to HP or Epson printer connections. This checkbox alters the available selections for Port and Port Type.

Share printer

Enhances performance if shared printing on one printer. The Share Printer option is disabled if the Use OPOS checkbox is selected. If using an OPOS driver when there are no applications sharing the printer, unselect the Shared Printer checkbox to prevent unnecessary delays caused by opening and closing the connection to the printer. This option is selected by default.

Use extended char set

This option is selected by default and allows all supported receipt printers to show special characters like the Euro symbol, EXCEPT for the IBM 4610-TF6. When using the IBM 4610-TF6 receipt printer with InfoGenesis POS version 4.4.7 or higher, uncheck this checkbox. (If using IBM 4610 printers that fail after upgrading to 4.4.8 or higher, uncheck the box, power the printers off and on, and run InfoGenesis Setup Manager to clear the option from the terminal’s memory.)

Use default printer font

Select this option to use the default font for the designated printer. Deselect this checkbox to have the printer print in a different font. This option turned off by default.

MSR attached

Select this option when a printer has an MSR attached. Do not select this checkbox when the printer does not come with an integrated MSR. Currently this functionality is only for Zebra Cameo and RW220 printers.

Print upside down

Select this option to have receipt data print upside down. By default, this option is not selected. This setting can be used for any type of receipt printer, but currently the Epson TM-L90 is the only printer supported by InfoGenesis POS to print receipts upside down.

User 3rd party interface

When this option is checked, the Port drop-down list contains selections for com1 through com32 to be used for serial receipt printers, Bluetooth printers, or third-party interfaces such as Smart Receipt™ (com20). This option is unchecked by default. The Use 3rd party interface and Use OPOS options are mutually exclusive; if one is selected, the other is disabled.
